EWG at AWS Summit London 2026 - Why Not?

The EWG development team and some of the leadership team recently attended the 2026 AWS Summit London, joining senior technology leaders, cloud architects, cybersecurity specialists, and AI practitioners from across the global technology sector for one of the industry’s flagship innovation events.

Held at ExCeL London, the summit brought together thousands of attendees for a high-quality programme of keynotes, tech sessions, workshops, and strategic discussions focused on the future of enterprise technology, artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, resilience, and digital transformation.

A major theme throughout the event was the rapid evolution of enterprise AI and the transition from experimentation into practical operational adoption. Discussions across the summit highlighted how organisations are increasingly embedding AI-assisted capabilities into engineering, operational, analytical, and decision-making processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and responsiveness.

Particular attention was given to the emergence of agentic AI models and autonomous workflow orchestration, alongside the growing importance of governance, oversight, security, and responsible implementation as these technologies mature within regulated and enterprise environments. Something we are best exploring with support from AWS and AI partner Lambert Labs.

For EWG, attendance at events like AWS Summit forms an important part of maintaining strategic awareness of emerging technologies, industry direction, and evolving best practice. As technology and regulatory landscapes continue to develop at pace, engaging directly with global technology leaders and enterprise practitioners provides valuable insight that helps inform long-term planning, platform evolution, operational resilience, and innovation strategy.

Alongside the summit itself, the visit also provided the opportunity for wider collaboration and knowledge sharing across the EWG technology function. The team held a dedicated developer workshop day, participated in AI-focused sessions with AWS specialists, and spent valuable time together discussing ideas, approaches, and future opportunities in a collaborative environment outside of normal day-to-day operations.

The visit reinforced both the pace of advancement currently taking place across AI and cloud technologies, and the importance of continued investment in skills, collaboration, and strategic technology engagement. EWG Group remains committed to ensuring its teams stay closely connected to the developments shaping the future of enterprise technology and digital financial services.

Of course, the event also offered some lighter moments alongside the technical discussions. One particularly engaging showcase demonstrated the use of real-time analytics and cloud-powered performance data within Formula 1, providing a practical example of how modern data platforms and AI capabilities are transforming industries well beyond traditional enterprise IT.

Denis Philippe our CTO said of these events

“The insights gained by the team from these few days help strengthen both strategic planning and the continued evolution of EWG’s technology and operational capabilities. Many leaders ask why I push to take groups to events like these and the answer is simple…It provides an opportunity for the team to shift focus for a short period, and embrace the art of the possible, while also being an investment in their learning, growth and value for themselves and the business. I have never had someone come away from these types of events saying they would have preferred to remain in the office, to the contrary, they start ideating how they can apply the learnings.”

In the words of VP of Prof Services and Agentic AI, Francesca Vasquez, during the keynote… Why Not?
