Alan qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant following his return to Jersey after serving in the British Army with the Royal Hampshire Regiment.  He is also a Chartered Fellow of the Securities and Investment Institute and a Fellow of the Association of Accounting Technicians.

Alan has over 25 years’ experience in the banking and offshore finance sector with specialist skills in the establishment of offshore fund structures and capital markets. Alan has extensive experience in trading derivatives on listed investment fund structures and prior to establishing EWG, Alan incorporated an offshore bank and established a centralised institutional corporate treasury operation for Assicurazioni Generali SpA. Throughout Alan's banking career he held senior management positions with both Deutsche Bank and The Royal Bank of Scotland.
